MEMORIES…what are they? How do they make you feel? They are the only things which will last forever.
In today’s world there are many gadgets which can restore your life with just pictures but happy memories are the only ones which has the strength of making your lips twitch into a smile. So many years, so many days, so many thoughts, so much time. It flows together- forever.
Life has many things stored for us in the future but memories are the only ones you have in your hand when you think about yesterday. Time passes and never comes back but if you want to live in the happiest moments of your life you will only find memories standing beside you and it will help you to live onto those moments yet again. The happy memories which you will reserve and restore today will be your beloved ones after time passes. From them you will realise that the time has passed and you have come a long way ahead. It was just yesterday when I stood in front of an immense school towering over my small figure with tears glistening in my eyes and holding my parent’s hand tightly not letting them go. It was my first day of school. With a terrified look on my little face, I climbed the stairs and walk through the corridor to the class which stood at the other end. It was my class. Crying, distraught ,sulky are the only words which could describe that day.
Months passed…it was the same school where I had studied but my emotions and feelings which were once terrific and horrific were then turned into calm and content. The most awaited day in our school life was the FIELD TRIP DAY!! I remember the best field trip which was to the Ski Dubai. Stepping into the blistering minus one degree was the best thing about it. We were all scared and frightened as the coldness hit us. With teachers all around us, we were handled with care. But after sometime we were all over each other throwing snow and pushing them into snow piles. The three hours of fun ended too soon. That day was just not for fun but to engrave the memories of the day in our mind which no one could shed.
Life is full of various events. But all the days are not the same – enjoyable and important. They might not be the happiest but still are memorable because of their effect on our hearts. I remember that one day which was unpleasant and unwelcoming. Our class had a Maths lesson and Nawaz sir was teaching. I had completed my work and it was that time I thought about tickling my best friend who sat beside me. I started and she cried out of pain and begged me to stop but I continued. Our whole class was chatting and gossiping. My class was in a chaos. “Stop!!” When we all heard that we stopped and turned around to see the principal glaring with us disappointment completely evident in her eyes . “You both” pointing at us “come outside”. At that time my heart stopped beating and fear took all over my body from head to toe. It was the first time I would get punished. My class got a detention and I still regret it because on that day I lost my friends and the pain could only be compared to a sharp knife stabbed deep inside my heart. I can never erase this memory from my mind or heart. Some memories are still engraved in my mind which will never be peeled off. “ The mind replays what the heart can’t delete.”
It is said “Memories are the best souvenirs”. Travelling gives us a lot of great memories we can always look back to. Getting out to world opens your mind to new ideas and innovation. It also gives us a peek into how the rest of the world lives. It brings back equilibrium when life at your home is too stressful. The best memories I have collected are of Yemen. It was not like big city travel experiences but the city had a certain level of beauty, happiness and refreshment. Incredible moments which is stored in my heart is of walking with the clouds. We were staying in a place 9000ft. above the ground on a mountain. It was just dawn and the clouds had turned into a shade of orange and yellow. It was a breathtaking view. I saw the clouds approaching us so I ran into the garden. Moments passed…I was standing between the clouds and the coldness of them-nature is the best. It was beyond words. The country did not have high skyscrapers or blistering busy streets but the small houses and roads on high mountains were extraordinary. Tiny houses filled the slopes of it. It was truly amazing.
To conclude, memories lives with and dies with you. No one will be able to snatch them away because they are stored in your heart and mind. It’s yours forever – live today to the fullest, rise and shine, enjoy your valuable time with friends because the moment will pass away and what you will have at the end of the day is just the memories.
