SHINE BRIGHT LIKE A DIAMOND by Ummehani Labhiwala

I stare at the gleam,
So wonderful it seems,

It’s light so bright,
It all seems right.

In my darkest times,
My heart craves for the crime,

To stay up all night outside,
Watching the glimmering sparkling shine.

Up in the sky so high,
The star near the moon resides,

With its strengthening bright,
I watch with my eyes wide.

My heart swells as I remember those memories,
But this little shine, acts as fairies,

Brightening up my day,
As I sit at the bay.

This is the one I can never forget,
Forever in my life, I will never regret,

Starring at it through those sleepless nights,
When the happiness ran out of sight.

This will be my gleam through the darkness,
A sweet mother, a mighty fortress,

A single alive heart in those dead ones everywhere,
Where I feel safe, it all seems fair.
