MEMORIES by Sarrah Kapadia
“No matter what happens, some memories can never be replaced,” and today I’d like to share with you some of my happiest memories and all the times that will never fade. However, there are a bunch of sad and depressing times-but I’m thankful for them just as much because if it wasn’t for the dull times I'd never learn something new or I’d never be able to reflect on my bad qualities. So come on with me down the memory lane to relive the unforgettable moments.
I opened my innocent eyes filled with excitement and nervousness, I heard my father call my name and I scampered around the room. It was my first day at school- as soon as we reached the school; I observed every student and everything around. My brother held my sweaty hands-half sobbing and half jumping with excitement he led me to my classroom. I hugged my brother goodbye. Nervously I entered the classroom with an unusual feeling and an army of goosebumps marching around my body. I hardly made any friends .The first day it took forever to finish. After a couple of days I was introduced to these amazing people- Ruqaiya and Sakina. They were the friends who changed my life, and always made me think in a positive way. We were known as the three musketeers in our class since we were very mischievous. As I said they changed my life, every second with them was a moment to remember.
Time passes by in a blink of an eye. Year 2 approached and something terrible happened. Sakina suddenly moved to Karachi. Ruqaiya, me and almost everyone in our class missed her a lot! But with this incident I learnt that you should always appreciate the person who has been there for you because you never know when he/she might leave.
School life carried some of the most amazing yet miserable moments too. And I like to chew every minute of it. I received my first certificate for winning second place in an art competition which was truly a proud moment. I also got a certificate in Year 3 -first place in a science project. Standing in front of the school all clapping their hands with so many smiles at you, was surely a happy moment.
Hangouts with best friends are the best! My friends and I met every week just to have fun time. Swimming, baking and a fun-filled sleepover- we laughed and played without stressing about life and just enjoying the little moments. What's better?
Travelling and exploring was something I adored as a little girl and of course, I still do. When my mum declared that we'll be going to Yemen, excitement quickly filled in my veins. In the trip to Yemen I learnt a handful of things including culture heritage and people.
My life was a rollercoaster ,filled with ups and downs. I love sitting on rollercoasters, slightly terrifying but always fun, just like my life. In year 7 my friends and I visited IMG Worlds of Adventure, which is the world’s largest indoor theme park. I had big smiles all around my face.
